benchmarking tool for memory controller?

You can use Sisoft Sandra. Under the memory test, it will tell you what the max throughput of the controller should be. It scales with the speed of the memory controller as well.

You will never, ever be able to get up to that throughput though unless your memory is running all timings at 0.
