Basic Question About Replacing e4300 Processor

I just received a used system that has the e4300 processor on a
Gigabyte ga-965p-ds3 motherboard rev. 3.3 mobo.

I was wondering if I replace the processor does the mobo automatically pickup the new processor or do I have to make adjustments?

Or am I better off replacing the mobo and processor at this point and time since they are both getting old?
 
Cpu will be detected automatically. No need to do anything. Get a faster cpu of you really want to upgrade. no need to replace the mobo. I mean if you replace everything, you shoud have built your own from scratch instead of buying a used one.
 
P965 chipset is still a solid chipset. And the DS3 mobo's are very good. Just grab a faster processor, slap it in and you're good to go. It's like stealing candy from a baby it's so easy. Now, the overclocking can be the hard part....but that's another matter entirely.
 
The only thing you might need to do is reset bios, depends on how the bios is set now.
Also, depending on what CPU you plan to get you might have to upgrade the bios to a newer version.
