I picked up an Acer H243Hbmid earlier today.
I hooked it up to my Xbox 360 via HDMI and set the Xbox for 1080P. Overall the displays works well with no lag or ghosting noticeable by me.
I do see what I believe are referred to as color bands. Some of the fog effects in Borderlands had color bands, more so than I've noticed on our 720P HDTV. The shading is not a smooth gradient and I can see distinct boundary lines dividing the shades. I also noticed some weird color banding from some of the light and glowing effects in Ninja Gaiden 2.
Do you think this is due to a limitation in the monitor itself or are there some settings that need adjustment?
If it's a problem with the type of monitor I got what types of monitors don't suffer from color banding effects?
Thanks
