i need help here with my setup,
now with the setting linked, i was able to do stressing test without any crash (32M superpi, 30min prime, 10 pass memtest #5).

the problem is, with this setting, sometimes i can succesfully boot into windows, but sometimes i can only reach the 'verifying DMI pool/saving bios' screen (the one with device and IRQ listing) and then it would reboot.

so it's sometimes boot-sometimes not situation.
any suggestion?? something wrong with the timings?

i would use bios 11-14 for starters.

and you should be using ballistix at 3-3-3 timings. you should be able to do 280-300mhz ram speed. try settings somewhat similar to this?

yeah i actually have seen that on your ballistix review :p

tried that. won't post. it would post on 3-4-4-8 though, on the same situation, sometime it works-sometime it doesn't work.

i wonder will it make any difference if i use 11/14 bios?
the psu's rail just fine on DMM so i don't think it a psu problem

i meant try those timings.. not the speed. you gotta work your way up to the max of your own sticks, whatever they are :p

i would definitly consider messing with drive strengths. i assume they're both on auto now?
try dram drive level 8 and data drive level 2? if that doesn't work, level 7

i use drive strength level 3 and data strength level 1. well that could be the problem.

so is it better to use normal or weak on drive strength?

depends on the system really. as a general rule of thumb, micron chips tend to like weak, but memory controller and motherboard plays a role in it too.. perhaps use level 7, and then try level 8 to see which is better. you might even wanna trya 6 and 5 if you want :D
