I'll try to be quick. First time here, but very impressed with this forum . I just upgraded mobo works from a6 yr. old AMD 900 Duron ,ECS k7s5a build to :
ECS GeForce 6100 PM-M2, AMD 64 X2 4000+ Brisbane, And Mushkin 2x1gb DDR2 800 Mem. Kept - WDC WD2000JB HD & Lite On DVD-rw 1633 SOHW. Also kept a Thermaltake 420w PSU given to me by someone who said was "just laying around". Voltage readings were taken from -Everest Home, Aida32, CPUID, And bios. In k7 build, all Voltages were perfect within .05. With the build I have now, only 5. volt are good. CPU should be 1.25-1.35,@ 2.35. 12 is at 5.12, and CPU cache is 64kbx2. Should be 128kbx2. L2 cache is good at 512kb. I've been shopping & found this-an OCZ 500w stealthstream PSU on BUY.Com. I'm running XP Pro SP2 with onboard graphics(GeForce6150SE @512mb shared). I do plan on adding a graphics card down the road. Will this PSU be enough for this build? My budget is limited, but I need the best bang for the buck.
