I have an Corsair TX 750w PSU. It is powering and MSI P-67 MB, Intel 2500k which is slightly over clocked, two hard drives, two optical drives, 16 MB of memory. I upgraded to and AMD Radeon 5870, to an AMD Radeon 6970. The 5870 used two six pin connectors and the 6970 uses two 8 pin connectors. When I hooked up the two eight pin connectors to the video card, nothing happened, the computer would not turn on. I had to use the dongle to which came with the video card to the other two video card power supply connects for one hookup to the video card.

Is this required for one AMD Radeon 6970, or might have a faulty power supply.

6970 does not use two 8 pin PCIE connectors. It uses a 6 pin and an 8 pin. I have one right next to me =.=
