ok, so i got cool bits and i oc'd my 6800gt to ultra speeds no prob. Before i ran any tests i DL'ed a new mobo driver. after that i noticed my intel desktop overclocker thing stopped working..so i Dl'd that again and oc'ed my 2.8 to a 2.9 (wow :( ) ..so that was all good..then i ran DOOM3..and it ran super at 1600x1200. then i loaded up farcry and BANG!!! every 3d image is white..loaded up battlefield vietnam...BANG! everything is white..what is that?? morrowind works fine..doom works fine..but thos games dont...i uninstalled my drivers and used driver clean and reinstalled them (61.77). but still the whiteness remains...soooooo angry.

i just had this happen on my BFG 6800U OC .. but I cant remember exactly what I did to fix it ..lol :rolleyes:

been working on 4 diff comps in last couple days and its all a blurr ..but I think it was something with nvidias own refresh rate override feature that was causing the white out in far cry ... just as if you use reforce it causes an aa error message to come up in new CS beta
 
trying to recreate the error to make sure that was actual problem or not ..jeez I must be getting old ...lol


**nope , that wasnt the cause ..hmm ..maybe it was the coolbits2 reg hack that was part of cause because I'm not using it now ..

when I had the prob I was using coolbits2 and nvidias refresh override or reforce and overclocking card to 445/1200 ..doom3 played just fine , but far cry would just give me a white screen on everything

I thoroughly uninstalled drivers and I reinstalled latest greatest nvidia drivers ..and I might have installed latest greatest nForce3 250 chipset drivers to ..but man I cant believe what exactly I did ..was just a couple days ago too :rolleyes:
 
hmm..ok..so what exactly happened and how do i fix it??thanks for your info though guys.
 
if you have a restore point, try that. If not, i'd uninstall your chipset and video card drivers, then reinstall DX
 
uninstall and then reinstall drivers without using coolbits maybe?
