But in the bios, the RAM ratio has to be set to DDR266 (Don't remember the ratio), and the timings are crap! 3-5-5-10!

Anyway, my question is this: At what point do the timings ruin the speed of your machine?
 
LOL...those timings on an athlon 64 would ruin performance..(benchmarking wise) I dont know about real life gaming..but athlon 64 benefits most from tight timings than mhz...
 
That's what I figured, which is why I'm not running it like that full time. I got it up to 2.7Ghz (290x9) last night, but 3-6-6-15 timings at a 1:2 ratio and prime95 error'd after 10 minutes :(

I don't quite get why my board hates my ram. 250Mhz @ 1:1 works fine. 145Mhz @ 1:2 doesn't. Is it possible that my mobo just hates having a FSB that high? I never freeze in Windows, it's always a spontanious reboot.
 
try lowering ur HTT multiplier from like 5 to 4x or something, you'll get higher fsb
