Hey all,
I've recently acquired an Asus notebook, and find it quite hard to see the keys at night... I've got one of those led on a gooseneck usb cable lights, but that's not so great... what I'm wondering about is the possibility of backlightinhg the keyboard... it is made of translucent but drak plastic, so light would come thorugh... i'm just considering betwwen el cable or el sheet... anyone experimented with this?

Thanks,

I say EL sheet, cable would give you an uneven light. Just punch holes in the EL sheets where you need it, glue on, put on keys, wire up... win++.

sounds like a cool project.

but it would be hard to make the keyboard illuminate evenly and not be too bright. it would be extremely difficult to put like an on/off switch on there and i think it would be really annoying to have the lights on all the time (not to mention bad on the battary)
