Hi everyone.

I just bought a Samsung 712N lcd. So far so good. No dead pixels. The only issue I have is that in the middle of the top edge and on the bottom 1/4 of the right edge of the screen, I notice light coming out of the edges. This problem only occurs when the screen is displaying black. It's not a huge amount of light seeping through but it is noticeable "brighter" at the two edges than at the center. I'm just wondering if this is normal with lcd's or if there's a way to fix it? Thanks.

My laptop has always done this, I think it's normal.

No, it is not normal.
Read around, many people had the same issue with some dell LCDs.

I don't know for sure, but my samsung 193P doesn't do it,although the two LCDs I had before this one did,A Sony and a Gem.My wife has a Sony and it doesn't do it though.I'd call Samsung and talk to them, they have excellent customer service from what I hear, they'll send you a new one via 2 day UPS I think I read somewhere.

my samsung 173t does it. its not really a big problem for me, after a couple weeks you stop noticing it.
