Now, if only they'll make the body magnesium.......hmmmmm

That would probably be too much like the 10D....I think thats why they made the original 300D and the 10D they way they are....they wanted to make money!

Yeah. I suppose that would close the proportional gap in Canon's product line, huh? Oh well. Looks like the formula will remain:

cost-effective = plastic body

I don't really see a gap in Canon's line anywhere....except maybe a dSLR that has an even larger buffer than the mkII. They have the low end smothered with cameras and all the new dSLRs seem to cover the bases rather well. What gap are you looking at?

The drebel is geared towards the person who shoots SLR but doesnt feel the need to invest thousands into their camera...the same type of people who own rebel 2000's.

MUCH better... Still not AS good looking as the Nikon D70 but definetly close.

I hope it comes to North America :)

Canon most-definitely has P-n-S cams covered. I was just specifying dSLR. Their products are well-rounded for those willing to dish the $$$ for the features they want/need

By giving BOTH the 10D and 300D magnesium bodies, it closes the gap between them. Thus, lacking ONLY in features and functions, as-opposed to cosmetic construction. I think Canon's goal with the 300d initially was to give the comsumers a dSLR in the sub-$1000 range. By doing this, they, obviously, had to cut some features from it's predecessor(s).

and you would use more than 21 shots raw or 40 shots jpeg without the buffer clearing itself somewhat how?

So far it does not look like it will be.

I didn't say I would, did I? There are people out there that take a lot of shots...basketball games and the like. You, of all people, should know why I would say something like that.....sigh

I've heard many pros online say they have never once reached the buffer limit on thier 1D or D2H.

Well good, but there are ones that have. I said it was a possibility of making the buffer outlast the card size....but completely necessary as the 1Dmk2 is kicking major ass in that department. Someone always wants something faster or to store more/faster.

i personally know that i would use that huge buffer that the 1D mkII has to offer, i mean its not that hard to fill 40 frames at 8.5 frames a second. i run out of buffer quite often with my 10D with teh 9 pix, at 3 pix a second, when shooting sports. i am seriously considering getting a 1D mkII but ill have to find a way to get the $$ to get it :D
