I was just reading the NCIX letter packaged with the BenQ (typed out by user karadur : http://www.hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1030535297&postcount=2159 ), and I noticed the first line there: "....BenQ's award winning FP241W 24" LCD monitor."

My random thought: is there a computer monitor currently on the market which has won NO awards? It seems like every new product that comes out already has award labels all over the box weeks before it hits the shelf for public consumption.

Can anyone find a link to a monitor that has won no awards? If we could find product release information, direct from the manufacturer, that doesn't mention awards on it, that would work as well. :)

This almost feels like a game!

Well, I would make a guess that neither the new 22" Samsung (226BW I think) nor the new 22" Dell monitor (228 something..) have reward labels attached to them, ofcause they are brand spanking new both of them so there's time... :D

edited for awful spelling...

C'mon now, you know the truth--there's a half-dozen reviewers on call 24/7/365 who are prefectly capable of reviewing a monitor over the phone for PCWorld, Computer Shopper and anyone else with an "Editor's Choice" or "Gold Preferred" award sticker to be placed on a box.

I've seen some pretty sketchy recommendations for products, too.... the TV stand I own is a "Maxim" TV stand.... and I've seen Harley Davidson endorse products that have no right to be endorsed by them (no links ATM, just something I remember from a few months ago.)
