I just picked up a 2.8E Prescott CPU over the weekend and it's running at about 50-51 C at stock settings with the stock HS and fan. Is this normal? It seems hotter than it should be.

I am running around 46C with a case temp of 29C at idle on a P4 3.0E. It jumps very quick from there with some use too. I have AS5 and Coolermaster IHC7 IIRC. I think they are usually running very warm unless you have something more for cooling than a heatsink.

prescotts run real hot especially if u add voltage to overclok. they are also hard on the mb components mosfets capacitors etc..
