Audigy 3

Audigy 4 Pro is just an enhanced Audigy 2 ZS. Apparently it is strictly an expensive limited edition card. Not sure if that means it will only be available for a limited time...heh, but its not worth it in my opinion. Not if you are looking to the future.

The new sound card from Creative Labs will be called Sound Blaster Zenith and it will be PCI Express 1X. I heard it will be released around March 2005.

Does that piece of shit bring anything new to the table that the Audigy 2 Platinums don't have? I don't see anything there yet. Especially for 300 bucks. If that's all they have for a next gen soundcard, that's pathetic. I hope that is just some limited edition (like gone in two weeks) card like you guys have said. OH WAIT! it comes wiith TWO firewire ports!! I preordered that puppy.

Gah you're right, with PCI-E around the corner they'd be stupid not to have something for that ready. I would have figured they would have ported the audigy 2 zs over though. But the audigy 4 just seems pointless.

does anyone know if it will have dolby digital encoding? or will it be like the audigy2's and only have 5.1 digital sound if the souce is 5.1

No point in upgrading. I think the dbl output or something is higher. I dunno. I would still go for a Audigy2 ZS Pt Pro
