so i got my new home theather, i am trying to make it work with my pc.i have bought a fiber optic cable and conencted it to digital output, but no sound... whats the peoblem

I would assume you have set your home theater input to optical already?

If yes, you could check your Creative AudioHQ Digital "Digital Input" tab. Make sure either 'default' or 'Dolby Digital/DTS SPDIF In-decode' option is chosen.

yes my ht is set to optical, well wheres digital tab i cannot find it

if i go to audioHQ all i see there is: Device control and EAX control panel

Click the settings tab and turn off the software decoder.

What is that gonna do?
Changing the digital input settings on the card ain't gonna fix a problem with the signal it sends to the receiver.

I know. It's puzzling me too, but that's how it works. There are three options:

1. Default
2. SPDIF Bypass
3. Dolby Digital / DTS SPDIF-In Decode

Since air2k5 is connected by optical (front panel), he has to set it to either 1 or 3. If he was connected via the multi-channel outs (at the card itself), it doesn't matter whichever setting he chooses.

I'm still trying to figure out why it's labeled as Digital Input.
