Does it matter which side of the 4 pin molex cable goes into the PSU? The Y cables have a short lead and a longer lead. So can I attach the longer lead to the PSU and have it split off closer to the drives? Or does the 4 pin connector that splits off always have to be attached to the PSU.

I'm asking this because if I attached the 4 pin molex cable that has the mini 4 pin for the 1.44 FDD the regular way, the FDD cable won't reach the drive. But if I attach the longer 4 pin molex to the PSU then I have plenty of cable to reach the FDD.
