ATi's next generation GPUs

Anyone have info on the next ATi GPUs? They will most likely be a refresh of the current 5xxx series, which is cool, but I have heard nothing about it.

Anyone got any information on this? They should be releasing soon, I would think.

This is the only article I found: http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/video/...ck_for_the_Second_Half_of_2010_AMD_s_CEO.html

That article talks about their plans for Northern Islands, which from what I understand have now been scrapped. Northern Islands was supposed to be done on a new process (32nm?) but they have instead chosen to go for a more conservative approach and do another generation at 40nm. They are going to take elements from their Northern Islands design and integrate it with elements from the current evergreen design in what many are calling "Southern Islands" and that is what we will probably see.

Northern Islands isn't scraped, its just no longer next since TMSC isn't going to deliver 28nm on time. Thus we get Southern Islands on 40nm.
