First post on this forum, been in and out reading for a few years. Now since I have my own domain I can now join, Let it begin!

I have a xfx hd5850 1gb card, is there some specific software/driver I need to get Ati stream technology to work with Photoshop and the like.

One other thing. I overclock my card periodically with Msi Afterburner. Got core to 860mhz and ram 1045, 1.125 mV stable, never gets above 65c.

The problem happens when I try to watch tv or video in media center or web the card forces a reset or freezes the system. Not sure how to get it to automatic throttle down. I have to get out of AB and do a full restart, to watch video. 3dMark, Kombustor, and games are sable, any suggestions?

Hold one while I get my sig up thanks!

Regrettably it looks like the Adobe Acceleration stuff isn't using opencl, but CUDA acceleration as of right now. So this means that only Nvidia cards can accelerate the functionality, until Abobe get on board with open cl.

Not this article is dated late last year, so there may be new developments in the software design.

As for the overclock thing, you may want to look more at profiles in the catylast control center, and maybe setup a hot key to trigger the oc and a hot key to trigger the standard clocks, or potentially setup the trigger to be media center or whatever app you are trying to use.
