Alrighty guys I currently am running a Asus X850 XT PE on stock cooling... im using a program called Ati Tool im sure all of you are awar of it :p but im gettin a regular 40 for my idel and a HIGH 90 for my load. now i know this card is ok running at that temp i have read reviews but i dont like it going that hot.

So here is what i need help in... im looking to doing some easy watter cooling. Im a student who is taking a Auto Car program at school as well as playing games.... (Counter Strike, Fear, ext...) its a good system and i get good FPS...

Its just to hot some times ....

Please any sujustions would be good guys

here is some information i have a Thermaltake Tsunami Dream case :rolleyes: ... i know i was not thinking ... i have 2 hard drives in it so there is room for parts and im only using the video card... so let me know where to start money is not optional but not out of the question...

Maby watter cooling is out of the question maby i just need some fans and stuff... let me know if you guys need any other information please leave it in the thread. thanks alot guys.
 
how much are you willing to spend....give us a budget and we can make the best recommendation for you.
 
im thinkin around 350 to 500$ (CANADIAN) i live in canada but shipping or ne thing wont be a problem.... so thats about it thanks for the quick reply
 
If you finished the A/C portion of your program you might want to build your own phase change unit. Otherwise it depends on what you want to do as far as OC or not. You can get a nice watercooling rig from just about anybody for that kind of moula.

if you just want your temps down a bit, i would get a VF700/VF900 for the video card and an XP/SI-120 with a midrange panaflo 120mm.. ~70-80cfm...

keeps my X2 @2.4ghz at 38C, full load. 7800GT stays pretty cool too.

this will be significantly cheaper and easier. unless you are really pushing your system to the limits, i see no need for water.

You have a whole lot of options with a budget that large.

For the Radiator the BIP is a good choice because it is nice and cheap. 36$ for a dual at Dangerdenstore.com, and even cheaper for a single.

I hope that gives you some ideas. You can very easily mix and match parts from any of those setups above. I tried to keep each setup to a minimum of online stores to minimize the shipping costs. There are a couple of stores in Canada for watercooling stuff...but their prices didn't seem that great and the parts they carried seemed a bit old. Nevertheless here is a list of a couple Canadian stores that carry watercooling.

A bit conservative on the extreme setup there fella ;)

  • Little River G7 - 230$
  • AquaXtreme 50Z Pump + dedicated PSU to run at 13.8v, otherwise stick with D5 / MCP655
  • DD Maze 4 GPU - Personally would go with MCW60 over Maze4 if partnering with a G7
  • ThermoChill PA120.3 + 3x Nexus / YateLoon / SilenX iXtrema fans (obviously)
  • Misc Tubing/Fittings/Shipping - 50$

is there any FAN or other cooling options that i could go... my case is all stock fans from thermaltake and are FAR to loud for me so that is alos another option

what is a good beginers brand name for watter cooling and stuff, i herd Swifttech is a good brad and has good prices.. thanks for all the help gusy
 
You probably don't really need water, if all you want to do is get your temperatures under control and get your noise levels down a bit,

Look at replacing all your stock case fans with Yate Loons / Akaska Ambers. They're both very quiet fans which push an alright amount of air.

You could replace your processor HSF with a Scythe Ninja, an XP-120, an Sl-120, a Zalman 7700 or a Zalman 9500.

Your GFX card cooler could be replaced with a Zalman VF-700 or an Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer.

The alternative is to go out and water cool your case with one of the suggestions from Erasmus or Bbq :D

like i said above, i would suggest a Thermalright SI-120 heatsink paired with a 70CFM panaflo for the CPU and a Zalman VF700-Cu for the video card for aircooling. I really dont think you need water
 
The question is .... is it worth over clocking really ... im thinkin on the processor yes .. im currently running it at a stock 3 sooo maby a little room there
 
This is the video card that im currently running ... i got it about 5 months ago for 400$ canadian shiped sooo it was a good deal i also dont know how to get this fan off ... well whit out harming the video card

if you're not planning on pushing things, don't go water. if you do plan on pushing things, then do go water......

www.adpmods.com is a good place to pick up gear in canada. (great service and very fast)
bigfoot is overpriced, but the only place to get some specialty watercooling gear.
NCIX is the only place that i have seen with the thermalright V1 in the ultra version.

three yate loon 120mm fans, one panaflo 80mm M1A fan, thermalright SI-120 CPU sink with adapter brackets if needed(i don't know if you're LGA775 or s478), thermalright V1 ultra VGA cooler, a good chipset cooler like the swiftech MCX159 or thermalright NB1, and a fan controller of your choice should keep you adequately cool, quietly.

watercooling can keep you cooler and quieter, but you're not coming across as very gung-ho about this.

if you want my watercooling picks, i can list them with canadian stores......i just don't see the point, with you coming across as being undecided.

i don't think that you can really get A-C gear in canada.......not a stab at the company this time, i just haven't seen the gear at canadian online stores.

don't bother looking at the imports: as soon as they hit the border you get raped with tarrifs and taxes. expect to pay double US list price by the time that you get anything ordered from the US into your hands.

edit: listing your PSU would also be helpful. there's not much point in going beyont a certain level of quietness if you have a loud PSU in there.

Well Marci...originally I had put an Iwaki and the PA120.3 in there. However that put him over his 500$ CAD limit...so I skimped on everything but the G7 :D
 
What are some good programs for overclocking and ways to monitor how the temps are

and L1ght, Cathar is supposedly doing a limited run of the G7's now or shortly. He has, from what I heard, 38 silver base plates to make the blocks with, which he expects 35 to be appropriate. However, this is second hand information not from Cathar so I am not sure if it is true.
