I am a complete noob to the forums so please bare with me.

I just picked up a AX800XT-PE and love the quality and performance of the card but its just missing one visual pleasing option that my old 5900SP had. "Digital Vibrance" I am a gamer and play a game called Americas Army and with the Digital Vibrance it would make the colors brighter and stand out a whole lot better than this ATI card. I am using the Catalyst 4.11 dirvers and the OSD enhancment driver from ASUS but I can't get the colors to look as pleasing and Vibrant as the NVIDIA card. Is there a setting in the card to pump up the colors, or a 3rd party application?

I went ino the card and tryed to change the colors and there were two options, "Desktop" and "3d" I figured "3D" would change the colors in applications but not matter what I changed it wouldn't change the colors in the game. Can anyone help me out on this one?

I recommend the Omega 2.5.97 drivers, nice performance boost. Try using CCC Catalyst Control Center. Note: you have to have Microsoft.net framework 1.1 installed first.

color tab.. fuck with saturation if you really want exaggerated colors, ya know how the audio/video stores sell tvs.. jack up the satuation ;)

are the best drivers out for PNY 6800 NU the ones from nvidia themselves or is there a better one? sorry for hijacking ur thread.

I might be doing somthing wrong, I down loaded the Catalyst drivers with the control center, and installed the Microsoft framework 1.1 first but no matter what I changed in the control panal, it would not change the settings in the game. There is two options on a pull down screen. Desktop, and 3d applicaton or somting like that. Im at work and don't remember exactly the names. But I coldn't get it to change any settings in the game. The only thing that worked was the OSD from ASUS. I read the manual and followed the instructions but I guess Im doing somthing wrong. thanks for your patiance guys. Im learning.

Moloch, I tried that but when I open the game its still the same.

So does anyone know for sure If ATI cards have a third party application that is comparable with Nvidia's "Digital Vibrance?"

Not that I know of, DV is a big feature for NV that many gravitate towards in cards like the 6800 GT/Ultra.

Yeah I loved the DV. I miss it alot. I like the ATI but, To do over I would probly go back to Nvidia just because of it. I mean side by side comparison between ATI cards and Nvidia performance wise, leaves me the consumer to chose the one with the options that I need or want. So I also am drawn to the Nvidia. Hope that made sense.

Yeah I got lucky when i got a chance to get the ATI card. My buddy bought it and he too was an Nvidia guy. He used it for a while and wanted the DV back and sold me the card for $250. I had the Nvidia 5900SP and jumped on the deal. But I know how he feels now.

well if its an x800xtpe you can easily sell it for more than that on eBay and buy a 6800GT or 6800U with the cash you made.

Buy her a piece of jewelry with the extra cash you'll have left over. Problem solved! ;)

Yea i'd sell that X800XT PE without even thinking twice about it. I bet you could get up around $700 for it on eBay and then you could just pick you up a nice 6800GT or X800XT and get about the same performance while having some cash to throw around on other upgrades.

Don't feed the trolls^^^^^^

That card is WAY to awesome to throw away on E-bay. And the x850's are coming which will effect prices so hold on to that baby. With that cooler you gotta be able to overclock way past x850 speeds so keep it. You got the best card out.

WAY to awesome to throw away on E-bay? Its only a few fps faster then the X800XT and you can just overclock the X800XT to PE speeds. That card will be old news this spring when new top end cards are released.

Thats my whole point. If he doesn't sell now then prices are going to drop when the X850's come out and he wont be able to get the kind of price he could right now. People on ebay are stupid and are paying outrageous prices to get an X800XT Phantom Edition. I just dont understand why anyone wouldn't want to take advantage of that.

Depends on how you look at it. The 6800U and X800XT PE are pretty much tied in D3D performance and the 6800GT is faster then the X800XT PE in OpenGL and a 5900 Ultra could probably beat the X800XT PE in Linux lol.

The X800XT PE is a great card but definitely not worth anywhere near the price its selling for. The 6800GT or a X800XT is a MUCH MUCH better buy.
