Ati Catalyst SmartGart problems !

Hi I have a Radeon 9800 pro using the catalyst 4.7 drivers on an Asus A7V8X motherboard. I was reading a tweak guide and noticed that there was an 'advanced' smartgart utility (accessed by typing 'smartgart' in start>run box). The guide says that in this utility the agp write and read settings should both be on, but my agp write is set as off. I switched it on and it asked for a reboot and upon logging into windows it takes about 20secs and then the smartgart utility suddenly appears again but the agp write option is still switched off. I tried re-installing the via hyperion drivers but it still doesn't switch on.

I then flashed my bios to latest version but still no luck. I then uninstalled cat drivers (clean uninstall), via drivers and re-installed them but still nothing! I then installed latest omega drivers and still the agp write does not switch on, while the agp read does.

Any ideas???

HERES THE FIX:

install your chipset AGP drivers. (sounds so easy, but took me forever to figure out)
 
same problem, reinstall your motherboards drivers, and if that doesnt work reinstall both the mobo driver and the videocard driver
