ati and nvidia drivers

my friend is upgrading his videocard for HL2 he has a fx5200 and he is going to upgrade to a 9700 pro ...the problem is COMPLETELY removing nvidia drivers so they won't conflict with ati cats.... how can i do this i know there is a program out there but i forgot the name of it....or should i just run the add/remove programs from win xp to remove the nvidia drivers? what do you guys think?
