hi,

i know theres this option with ati cards the "ai" thingy, now what i would like to know is if you set it to high does it make any differents? i know what it does but how does it affect gameplay/desktop use.

what would be the best setting for this option?

thx for any replys :)

Catalyst ATI enables some texture optimizations that, sometimes, give a small performance boost. Setting AI to "high" or "advanced" takes the optimizations even further, but potentially at the expense of image quality and CPU overhead. The most important part of AI, though, is that it can look for specific games (by checking .exe files) and then run specific optmizations that ATI built into their drivers just for that game. These optimizations are usually a good thing.

I recommend setting it on "low" or "standard" (depending on which driver version you are using). This way, you can benefit from the game specific optimizations ATI adds to the drivers every once in a while. It has never caused any performance or stability issues for me.
