So my Dad has a laptop hooked up to a smaller lcd he uses both screens and I guess the charts stop running. He's called everyone from sony to etrade to our isp. Now they are saying it could be the laptops video card. Do you guys think this could be? It's a sony Vaio 2Ghz P4 with 512mb of ram and a ATI 9100. (I think 245m). This seems like the laptop should be able to handle running streaming browsers on the 14-15LCD plus other stuff. Any ideas or thoughts?

?? Explain what the problem is in more details. I have a 9100 and probably could help you.

well apparently the charts that are streaming apparently just stop. Apparently it happens only when he has the 2nd monitor hooked up but I thought the 9100 could handle this type of thing? do you have this card on your laptop? Only real drivers for it I can find: link

Oh I thought you said it was a Dell 9100 My Bad. What do you mean Charts????? Do you mean, that you can't display video on the 2nd monitor?

stock charts like streaming numbers. It displays on the 2nd monitor but then they will stop. Best description I can give.

Oh so it only happens with a specific program?

with etrade but this also would happen with Ameritrade.
