Quick question: What's the likelyhood of me overclocking a 3000+ (2.16ghz stock) to 2.666 Ghz using stock fan, heatsink, NF7 motherboard, and 512 Kingston Value Memory?
 
The odds of that happening are extremely unlikely. First of all, there is no way you could even hope to achieve half that overclock without raising the voltage. Higher core voltage = heat! The stock cooler can hardly keep the temps below 60c at default settings. If you want to overclock like that, you'll need compressor based cooling for sure, and even then there is no gaurentee.
 
2.67Ghz is a good overclock even for the AXP mobiles so I doubt many 3000+'s can hit that mark. You'll definitely need better cooling and most likely better RAM.
