2.75 Stable on AIR. too bad that nF3 mobo blew and I got a via board with a broken AGP lock

Now I keep her at 245x9=2.2 GHz, but she will be replaced very soon with an X2.

Venice core.

coo, yeah i have the Venice core as well.. isn't the venice core the best for overclocking??

early batch venices oc'ed the best. most could reach 2.7ghz on air but you had to add a lot of voltage to them to get them stable and cool them well. i still have my week 0517 3000+ venice that does 2.7ghz @ 1.55v.

for their time, venices were the best cores to oc. but now with opterons on s939, that has changed. s939 opterons are the best cpu's to oc. i say this because opterons start at a lower stock voltage (1.35v) while regular athlon 64s are 1.4v. plus opterons are known to oc to high FSB on not much if any bump in voltage.

has anyone heard of them hitting past 3.0ghz?
that would be 333 MHz, which is alot...for both mobo and CPU.

I have heard of close, but 3.0 is stretching it. A better goal is 2.8
