Atari has announced a restructuring plan that will cut its total workforce by nearly 20%. The company’s administration staff will be hit the hardest, losing almost 26% of its staff.

The company hopes the plan, of which all employees were notified by April 30, 2007 following its approval by Atari's board of directors on April 10, will be completed on or before July 31, 2007. As a result of the action, Atari anticipates a restructuring charge of between $0.8 to $1.1 million during the 2008 fiscal year.

Good, f*** Atari and their copy protection that doesn't let original disks work on certain computers. I hope they go bankrupt.

ARE YOU NUTS NO ONE DESERVES TO LOOSE THERE JOBS AND IF ATARI GOES A LOT OF GAMES WILL GO WITH IT DO NOT PUNISH THE PEOPLE THAT FOLLOW ORDERS FROM THE TOP OF THE COMPANY ITS A USE THIS IN THIS WAY OR LOOSE YOU JOB WHAT THE FRACK WOULD YOU DO

Nice writing skills.

I said nothing about the individual people. I'm saying Atari as a company sucks. Maybe if they ran their company differently, they wouldn't losing their jobs.

Shit happens, and people lose jobs all the time, it has happened to me and everyone I know at some time or another. What should they do? Get new jobs. Hopefully this time they will land a job with a company that doesn't suck.

So when did the string of Grammer Nazi's come in here.
I would never wish upon anyone for loosing their jobs regardless of how bad the company is. Companies will continue to layoff people, bitch about needing help, putting signs that ask for help, and what do they do?

They brush off the resumes from people that are looking for jobs like the people never applied for the job. How stupid is it for a company to false advertise they need help, but won't hire you. It just gives the person who applies for a job a false sense of hope.

When people started arguing points that couldn't even form coherent sentences. I make my fair share of spelling errors, and maybe the occasional grammatical error. But at least I write to a minimum skill level so that the average English speaking person can understand the point I am trying to make.

I still think Atari sucks and the sooner they get wiped out, the better the chances of me not having to spend extra time trying to get a game to work that I just purchased. You could actually go as far as to blame Atari and companies like them for the decline in popularity of PC gaming. Good titles get destroyed by shitty copy protection.
