Have to give it a try. Ordered it from Newegg.com today. Anyone else here try one yet? So far I'm getting a kick out of GRAW and this should make it even better. :D

Not for 300 dollars, im okay for awhile. Ill wait until next build.

QFT

There's gonna have to be a LOT more benefit than just some fire and extra particles here and there to get me to sink $300. I spent $300 on an x1800xt w/512mb ram...it lets me play every game I own in full eye candy AA/AF @1280x1024 (I'm on an LCD)....I'd expect the same performance benefit if I'm to sink the same amount of money in more hardware.

if this company releases something like PhysXMark08 or something and allow you to overclock it somehow they'll be rolling in the $$.

You know, I'd almost accuse the OP of being a plant if they weren't a noobie.

Until something worthwhile uses the physX card (and DOESN'T suffer a performance hit) I'll be staying away from it. I still need to upgrade my videocard, CPU, and memory - I don't have the cash for the physx card on top of that.

The physx card addin seems an expensive solution to the problem of needing more horsepower for physics. The easiest solution lies in multi core cpu's as they arent slow and are pretty cheap for an extra core!
This will only improve as well.

The Physx card could have been a great hit from the start if they had a more mature driver that can offload more processing from the cpu. As it is they allowed ATI to steal their thunder and allowed us to see the physx engine performing really well in software without the PPU.
I'm sure AGEIA will get more performance from the driver but the march is on now to do physx without spending as much.

The physx effects I have seen so far havent convinced me its worth using even if it was free lol.

hope you like the extra 2 objects flying from the explotions...
So, how many that have posted have USED the card?
BTW, Since I have a good job, don't do drugs, cigs or booze I can afford the card. ;)

So can I ( minus the booze part ) but the idea of the card still seems like a huge waste currently. Maybe if it was like...$50 for the low-end model, and $100 for the high end, then i'd deff go for it, but $290 for a card that like one or two games support? Uh...no. Its not as important as A/V (video and sound-cards) so why is it priced as such?

Because it's a very new produckt its chip are back in line by chipfoundery's Big custumers first. So the only got 130nm produktion. And the Production is low because of introduktion. Wich means no range of produkt but only one produkt.Till number rise. where more flavors are economical viable.
If volume would be 1Mil they could do the same as GPU market. And the new Producktion dieshrins get avaible.

So the big isue is they are just staring a market. ATI is not.

Prises are dependable on produktion size wich is small at the moment.

hehehe Yes he does. :D

Man this card is a major letdown atm , Even if Graw worked properly with it i still wouldnt play it due to the lack of AA.

$300 for a game DEcellerator? No thanks.

Sigh. As always, try to at least get the whole picture.

some very light reading

Yeah fine GRAW's implimentation of PhysX was crap, but the fact that they fixed it even though it was that crap means that it's obviously not dragging its heels as much as Diesel engine.

Deeper and better integrated support and a lower price. You know...the price wouldn't even be a problem if a game or group of games convinced me that I'm missing out on some serious effects by not having one.

Right now.. I'm not convinced.

I dont need AA. /cranc up the reso to 1800x1440 but it would polish it a tad more. :)
Have costumised render XML file and put all manager true en high detail textures.
It runs fine.
But till now without Ageia support.

The other rig is to slow but have ageia. Graw look realy bad, but with extra particles.:) And Cell factor is nice but looks bad to. Need a faste G-card. :) 800x600 very low detail.

Failing any real use out of that card, you could always use it as a Book-End or a coaster or something. :p
... a $300.00 coster.... only used for high end Rye and scotch :D
