When I originally bought my hardware upgrade I went with an Extreme6 instead of the Extreme6g/b which I could kick myself now since I actually need/want a sound card. Does anyone know of a way to purchase the addon card?

 
I'd probably call Asrock directly and inquire about buying one. If they won't do it or want to charge too much you could always go with a third party option.
 
The Recon3d cards.. which the ASrock card is based off of, is basically a piece of junk.

The sound Quality is not as good as X-fi and to top it off, it is not hardware accelerated... everything is done in software.

And from the reviews I have looked at, it is required to put it in a specific slot.

It will also only work on specific ASRock motherboards.
