Hi,

I just ordered an Aspire QPack (w/ the Biostar 6100 mobo, an amd64 3000+ and 512mb of crucial ram). Eventually, I plan to add another 512mb of ram and a 7800 gt. I've been reading on these forums about the QPack and it seems most people do not trust the power supply. Will it be sufficient for the components I initially have? I'm guessing that I'd want to upgrade it before adding the 7800gt. What power supply does everyone reccomend? And what brands of optical drives will fit w/ an atx power supply?

Oh, and will I have any trouble fitting a 7800gt in the case? Pictures of the case make it look fairly long.

i'd say its good enough, but only if you don't oc. if you plan to oc its not enough.

i'd recommend the xclio 450w psu for the cheapest quality psu. $52 before tax/shipping at newegg, comes out to about $60 after.

I had Low Voltages on my 3.3 and 12volt lines when my computer was at idle and at stock speeds so I quickly replaced it. I am running a Fortron 350 Watt unit now but will be upgradeing it soon as I plan on useing twin Raptor Hard drives in Raid 0 so I will need more power for those.
For optical drives I am useing 2 Lite-On Drives, they are very short and give plenty of room for a full size PSU. There are others but I would recomend these from experience.
