Ok, to start all off, got an amd mxp 2500, 512 mushkin on a nf7-s with a bfg 5500 oc.
Started to notice some heat issues when i play a few games, so I decided to take my card out (other chips and what-not allready have as5 on them) and remove the fan on the vid card and wipe up that white paste crap, and apply as5. Well...that was easy enough, got it all done and all is good i thought, put a SMALL layer on the core, like what is needed on the cpu, and put the fan (stock) back on, and cant play ANY games now, cant even run 3d mark, keeps freezing up, and / or real laggy. Did I just fubar my card? It works fine for watching tv, web surfing and such, but no games.... $$ is tight, so I was just trying to conserve, not give me a reason to buy anothere one, but if I must then I must... Any ideas on this issue?
 
12 views and now answers or advice? common guys post some response, my nforce 1 board with intergated gforce 2 graphics are doing better then this 5500 now, damn me for not leaving well enough alone!
 
The only logical reason I can think of is that your Heatsink on Videocard is not seated properly onto the core. Other than that, I'm clueless...
 
Take off the heatsink again and reapply it. Squirt a little drop about the size of a BB and then install the heatsink. You dont need to spread it out. Its will transfer heat better if it transfers in the center of the heatsink and not around the edges.
 
WEll due to the Huricane havent been able to turn on comp till now, but did as advised, and 100% better! Guess you cant just apply a thin amount on grapics chips, so I put a glob on it and let the sink do the work. Thanks for all that responded. :)
