hey i was wondering just out of randomness, how do i get the grey pad off of the bottom of the heatsync/f?? i think its nail polish remover but its been forever since ive done this, also how much silver coumpound should i use on the top of the cpu? its an athlon 64 3200+

use a high 90% + Alcohol (the rubbing alcohol you can find at stores) anything above 90% will work

90+% isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) will work fine
the nail polish remover will work (arguably) better, but it has fragrances and other 'additives' in it to make it smell good. It works well because it contains acetone, which is a very 'fierce' cleaning agent. You can by straight acetone at any home improvement store (home depot, lowes).

If you use nail polish remover, use some rubbing alcohol after it to get rid of the extra crap left behind.

Also: try using the search function ;)
(not trying to be rude, but this is a very common question)
