Are VMs made in XP Mode portable?

If I have an E6600 system at work running Windows 7 Pro x64, and I create a VM in XP Mode with Windows 7 Basic as my guest OS....would that be portable to bring home to the system in my sig (top system)? I'm only planning to use it in one place (at home), but I'd like to be able to create it here at work, and then carry the files home. Are there any issues with this?
