Ok heres the deal. I have an A64 3000+ Newcastle. Stock speed is 2000mhz. I have it running at 2.4ghz now (10x240) with STOCK cooling... my temperatures are as follows...

i have 2 intake 80 mm's, a thermaltake smartfan at the top of my case acting as a 'blowhole' at about 5000 rpm... a 120mm fan in the back... and another 80mm on the side panel pretty much right above the cpu... all exaust fans are blowing out relatively cool air.. the room is pretty cool at the moment too, but this is stock cooling.. heres my cpu-z if anyone needed it

i also have a temperature monitor on the front of my case.. the thermometer is very close to the cpu. i placed it in between the fins in the aluminum heatsink and its pretty far down there.. it reads 104.5F. not sure of the conversion at the moment.. too lazy.. but according to ABIT EQ 86F=30C. i just dont see how either of these can be right. oh yeah and the motherboard is a KV8-PRO

I'm not much of an overclocker but i pretty much got this whole HTT thing figured out.. anybody have any comments on my overclock to whether or not i did it the dumb way or not? my ram is still at 200 because its value select and i cant really push it.

sorry to get off topic, so do these temps seem normal???

 no

my AXP 2600 OCed to 2.3Ghz (from 1.9) runs 44*c idle so i HIGHLY doubt it...then again i could be wrong, since i havent seen temps for the A64. But i highly doubt im wrong...

sensors must be messed up or something

the temp from the sensor in the fins seems alot more accurate...cus 29C is 84F and 104.5F is 40C

so the temp monitor at the front seems closer..

High 20's . Those are the kinda temps a O/Ced A64 would get with water at idle.

But then there isnt a mobo out there than gives anything even remotely close to reliable temps.
