I was wondering if anyone is using a arctic cooler on a sapphrire 9800pro. I was wondering how hard it was to install and possible pifalls people have had installing this cooler.

Thanks,

i ordered one of those 2 days ago and i have a 9800 Pro, ill tell you how well it does when i get it installed.

I have one on a BBI 9800 Pro. Cooling is just a bit better than stock. Where this thing shines, IMHO, is lowering case temps. I have to systems sitting side-by-side. Both are antec 1000 series cases, both have thae same fan setups, 4 Vantec Thermoflos plus the fans in the Antec Tru480's. One system has the Silencer on the 9800, one has a TI4600. There is a 6-7c difference in case temps at all times with the Silencer equiped one being the lowest. Make your own conclusions.
I just ordered the parts to go water on the ATI system. I am not sure but it may come down to having to loose either my Soundblaster Live or the Silencer to make room for the Eheim 1250 pump. I ordered a bloc for the 9800 just in case. If I do go water on the ATI, I am going to see what it would take to mod the Silencer to fit my TI4600. I do very little gaming on that system, mostly vid processing.
So to sum it up, if you are after hardcore vga cooling, look somewhere else, but this will definately lower case temps which should lower everything else a bit.
