APC Replacement Battery Question

I recently replaced the battery in my APC BE450G and it is emitting a very high pitched, barely audible "whine". It is definitely not an error or warning tone. I have to put my ear within a foot or so of the device to hear it. The noise exists only when it is powered on. If it is unplugged, or plugged in and off, there's no sound.

Is this normal, or something I should be concerned about?

Its most likely failing(some component). These ups are disposable. Gone through several through the years at work and home

Sounds like a failing regulation circuit. Get a new one.
