Anyway to speed up Brute force attack on RAR Pwd. recovery

I am using RAR pwd Recovery. The dictionary found nothing. But by setting at only 6 chr., it takes 3 days. If I set it to 4 to 6 char., the software says 3 yr.

Is there a way to set the parameter to speed this process up? If brute force takes this long, the whole job is pointless

That's the nature of brute force.. it tries every single possibility. Do the math and you'll see every additional character increases the search space considerably.

If there are programs that can do this search with GPGPU, it'll be a lot faster, but it'll still quite awhile.

Not really, you are hacking into a file that is designed not to be easily hacked into.
