im looking for something in the $0 - $80 range that will allow me to transfer pictures on a compact flash card to a CD-R/HDD/DVD-RW/something of that sort, WITHOUT a PC...

i found this: http://www.kanguru.com/fcrw_slim.html

its exactly what i need, except for the price..for that price i could get a cheap p2 laptop off ebay with 10gig HDD to bring around and upload photos to...

i did a bit of seraching and it doesnt seem like it's gonna happen for under $80. you just might be better off with an old laptop. Plus, at least the laptop can do more than just move pictures.

oh well..i may come across some more money soon so i may be able to grab that one (the older (bigger with no battery...only wall plug, which i can mod a battery to)) version for about $110 off some sites on froogle

TY for looking tho
