Okay HERE is a link. I saw this at BestBuy in the mall while I was walking back from getting a haircut (I look good if you must know). Anyway I like the layout of the front (really simple) and the price is pretty decent. Has anyone used this or can make an educated guess as to its performance?
Thanks.

That's the newer model of my old CRT (before I got my 2001FP LCD)

I had the Samsung 955DF DynaFlat monitor and it's a pretty damn good CRT, especially for the price. The model you saw is the next one up, and I've read good reviews for it.

I had one these about a month ago, nice design, good price, horrible picture. The extra glass on the sides to make it flat really seems to have brought out a chainlink pattern that I couldn't get used to at all. I saw one on display at Circuit City as well, same pattern. That may or may not be an issue for you, I'd check it out in person first tho.

PS: I didn't notice this effect on the 955DF.

I went to BestBuy to get a look at this monitor, and I cant tell where I stand. First of all what ever video they were sending to the monitors was CRAP! All the monitors, except the few $500+ LCDs they had would not show the feed at all, the text the video all of it was unbearable. I dont think it was the 10+ monitors that were bad but I think BB could do a better job of feeding the video to them. Also the monitor in question was not set up well. The picture did not fit the screen, there was about a half inch gap on the left and about a quarter inch on the right. So I couldn't really get a look at the "chainlink" problem. I was so awestruck by the stupidity in that place, that I just turned around and left. (actually a BFG 6800GT caught my eye and I went that way!!!)

Anyone else seen this or willing to take a look at it the next time thier at BestBuy or Circuit City (both have it)
Thanks

Looks like a great price for a good CRT.

I would'nt trust BestBuy. i mean, heck........ if they don't even take the time to streach the screen size to the sides............... ~_~

Ide buy it in a heart beat if i needed another.

I've had two 19" Samsung Syncmaster CRTs and would strongly recommend the line

The monitor is Horrible. I first bought it and, it had this terrible ghostly effect. where when I had a dark screen with a white text I wiuld see a white haze around the white object almost like a grey. It was very bad. So I called Samsung and they said it whould not do that. I came and asked on the forums and they said it was normal. I still took it back, came home and it has the same problem, I took it back again and opened another one in the store and it had the same problem. I then Just gave up and told the manager I wanted to refund and she said i would have to pay restocking fee, Thankfully I got the guy who opened the monitor in the computer section of circuit city let me off of the fee and I got my $200 back because he knew they were al defetive. I know own the Misubishi 930SB and it owns any samsung monitor by far, This monitor is worth you saving up a extra $100 over 5 years than ordering a 997Df, and i ddi not metion the 997DF sub par Refresh rates

i'm runnin a 950p myself .

i also have a 550S , and overall , i would definately buy samsung displays again .

I have that monitor and I am pleased with it. I ended up getting mine for $198 out the door with the 3 year replacement warranty at BestBuy.
