im sendin mine back and probly get a refurb. what was the condition for those that did?

they'll give you ones that have been sent back

unfortunately this means that you'll most likely get one with dead pixels as that's what a lot of the returns are on them

I had a refurb 2005fpw. It will be a slightly different box, but the monitor will be just like new.

well the avg consumer isnt picky about the pixels or even look for them, ill probly get the ones from the anal members of this forum which i would not mind too much since theyd send it back for one stuck pixel...mine has 3-4 anyway

Why do you assume you're getting a refurb? When I sent mine back, I got a new one (according to the counter in the factory menu).

The counter can be reset.

ttt, apperantley now that a replacement is on the way my monitor decided to fix itself...clever bastard. i'm not falling for it though

Just curious bench261, what was wrong with your monitor? Sent mine back for a piercing high pitched whine.

Since I had it under 21 days Dell just gave me a full refund so I thought I wait a while before ordering another unit to give Dell time to work the bugs out.

3 dead pixels and lopsided...i could live with that though, the problem was that there was a multicolored vertical line from top to bottom of the screen when the lcd wakes up or turns on. it will go away after its fully warmed, but it just becomes more apparent as time goes by and the time it takes for it to dissappear increases.

i feared that maybe after 1 year or less the line will become permanent...it's sorta like a shimmering pixel except a whole line

oh yeah, i got my refurb...it has 1 or 2 stuck pixels, no biggie...my original wasnt any better..this one is semi lopsided but the swivel isnt as creaky or flimsy..sorta stiffer like the 2005fpw. it's 1.3 rev, i dont mind cuz if i hav problems yet again, i'll just have it replaced

correction: the refurb is not lopsided...it was just in my head from being used to the other one bein tht way
