I saw the Article/blurb on the front page and wanted to say somewthing about it.
That video is real as I saw the motherboard /CPU sitting on the table in the Voyermods office. At least it loooked the same to me. I happen to live in New Mexico and can purchase it at the retail store.
I got the red color but any color they have is avaiable. Blue, Green, Red and Clear.
Distilled water alone will corode your radiator or the waterblock. I was using just distilled water and some Rit brightner laundry treatment. Under UV it is pretty bright. UV also kills anything that can grow in the water. After I was done watercooling my old athlonXP I removed the block and the fins were black and the walls of the tubing were stained white.
The white and the black were aluminium bleeding from the radiator. BTW this was running non stop for two years and no water changes. I added a pint every month but there were no leaks and no algae growth. I used a Maxijet 1200 and thats what finaly gave out running 24/7/365. It had a small leak that I did not fix. So I put on the OEM cooler and the kid uses it now.
I am now using the same system except for a VIA Aqua 1300 that I fixed and sealed permanetly with epoxy. The Primo Chill is a bit thicker than water but not by much.
I did test the sytem at stock speeds and just distilled water for a few hours after a 24 hour leak test.
Temps at idle are 1 degree above ambient. When I mean ambient thats the temp in the house. If the sensor says 70 degrees the thermostat says 69. If the heater kicks on the temps go up temporaily. Forced hot air. This means that the heater core is doing very well to remove any heat. It should its from and F-150! And I have a 160 mm fan capable of 235 CFM. Loud as a jet plane so I throttle it back to 6-7 volts. If I go to 5 volts the temp rise a bit higher than 2 degrees above ambient.
Distilled water-
Full load under prime 95 is 98F this is at 7 volts Idle is 1 degree above ambient.
Primo Chill-
Full load under prime 95 is 99F this is at 7 volts Idle is 1 degree above ambient.
Temps only fall 2 degees with a full fan aproach.
Personally I like the primo Chill however give me a few monthes to report back as I have only had it for 3 days.
Oh and after I changed the fluid I had a bit of a leak from the hose I miss clamped right onto the darn video card!! The system was off and not plugged in. I did wipe the P.C. from the card and waited 24 hours no leaks and the system is fine.
