Any way to get data off a floppy that says 'disk not formatted'?

I copied some files to a floppy, took the floppy out, put it in another computer, and got the error: disk is not formatted, cannot access (or something of that nature). So I went back to the comp I copied the files from, and it now gets the same error. Could the disk have somehow gone bad that fast? Or could it have a virus or something? I need some of the files off of it but can't access it from dos or windows. Any suggestions?

I had this problem happen to me recently. I saved some files to a floppy went to another computer just as you did and got the saem error. Lucky for me though, when I put the floppy back in the originating computer the files were still there. I wish I could help you, but I cant, just wanted to sympathize in your pain.

download a bootable cd linux os like DSL and mount the disk...copy the files over then copy them back to a newly formated disk. :)
