Any tips on pushing it further?

Specs are in my sig. Recently I decided to try to lap my CPU to get better cooling performance and I guess I really needed it because now I get this...

I know S754 is pretty old now, but it's what I have to use right now so I figure I'd try to get as much performance out of it as possible. Any tips on pushing it even farther? I'm guessing I could probably get it to 2.7GHz if I got an air conditioner for my room or something because just priming overnight when its cooler made my temps drop 5C. I tried 1.55v, but my comp froze at 337 x8 a few minutes into SP2004. Previously with 1.5v it would be good until 335 x8. So I figured I wouldn't see much more improvement going up in volts. Obviously that wasn't stable though, because currently I'm running 328 x8 with 1.5v.

Temps are around 45C at load right now, but when it gets hotter later in the day jumps up to around 50C.

I guess the only ways to get a higher clock would be more vcore (i start getting diminishing returns after 1.5v so I stopped) and better cooling (the thing that would probably help the most here would mainly be just keeping my room cooler.)

It was also recommended to try burning in the CPU on another forum. I've always read conflicting thoughts on burn-in, but I guess it doesn't hurt to try. Just to give some more info, right now it is about 84F in my room, but it's only 10:02AM, so it should increase.

Also, I currently have a Freezer 64 Pro, I lapped both the IHS on my Sempron and the heatsink. However, I did put a lot more time into the CPU. After the hours it took for the CPU, I kind of rushed on the heatsink (it was getting late). It does have a few scratched right in the middle of it (not real large, but large compared to much higher grits, but if I run my nail across it I don't feel it). Should I re-do the heatsink to see if it makes any difference or would a few scratches not make that large of a difference?

My computer is also in a closet type thing, which could possibly lead to higher temps I guess. I have a 22" CRT that gets rather hot as well. Here's some pics:

I'll give the burn-in procedure a shot, but in the meantime any tips for better cooling performance whether it be by re-doing the lapping, keeping my room colder, cooling my CRT, mods to my case, better fans for my case, better fan for my heatsink etc. would be appreciated.
