any real difference between these two hdds?

So im finishing up on upgrading my pc and throwing all my old hardware into my old case and giving it to my cousin.

i had to order a new hdd for the hand me down.
this is the one i purchased.

is there any real difference between the two?

the wd has a 64mb cache vs my samsungs 32mb.
the wd also uses sata 6 and the samsugn sata 3, which from what i understand there is no difference for hdds, just ssds.

im going to be doing a clean install before b4 comes out but is there any reason to swap my current hd with the wd?

there is a slight difference between sata 6 and sata 2 for HDD as can be seen from using a sata 6 on a sata 2 port, though the differences are really not that large.

a 4k format and such would make a larger difference.

as far as the cache is concerned this depends on the HDD in question and a larger vs smaller does not matter overall as they are designed and tuned with the HDD in question, where it does come into play however is when moving very large files constantly as the hdd can keep more in its cache and can make a pretty good difference when said drive is partitioned correctly to take advantage of its various sectors to get the most out of its available speed.

The amount of platters and the density of said platters matter the most in HDD period.

Caviar blue 1tb for storage(EZEX) black for performance drive, well any single platter 1tb anyways if you are looking for great performance.

you can always goggle some HDtune performance benches and see the difference or test it yourself. I would have the Sammy as your OS drive and the blue as the storage/game drive both partitioned and both with a paging file sized properly with their own partition to get the most out of each drive.

well i actually use my ssd for my windows and a few games.
everything else goes onto my hdd.
im just wonder whether swapping the wd with the samsung is worth the effort or not lol.
one of the two hdds are going into the hand me down pc, and i would like to keep the better hdd for myself.

well seeing as it will be for a "game" drive, bench test them both with something like HDtune and it can tell you more directly, granted it will not be the same as if the drive has a lot of info on it, but, it should give a clearer picture, or you can look for reviews of both to see this.
