I am looking for one quiet HS solution that will fit in a tight case. SFF. Anyone that could take a q6600 to 3.6GHZ ?

perhaps with h20 in a SFF case but noway with air on a quad. GL.

what do you think of the ultima-90, supposed to be the smaller brother of the Ultra-120

the arctic freezer 7 pro isn't very big and works VERY WELL!

and it did take my q6600 to a close 3.55 where i didn't bother tweaking anymore for a 5mhz gain lol
vcore was set at 1.375 and my load temp was around 69C Room temp was a stable 70F

great, thanks. it's cheap too. But is it quiet enough ?

What power supply did you have ?

Arctic Freezer 7 Pro... ugh, cheap means cheap. In this case means cheaply made, flimsy, and frustrating installation.

I'd reccomend a Thermalright Ultima 90. I have one installed with a120mm fan (Scythe SF21FF) and it's AMAZING! An Ultra wouldn't fit in my case but an Ultima did the job and does nicely with a 3.3 GHz easily.

The AC freezer is way too tall normally for a SFF. What case is the cooler for?

ANy cooler taller then the Intel stock cooler at 70mm or so will probably not fit as these compact cases are designed to Intel's cooler clearance spec.

I don't know what case the OP is looking at, but the SG01 states that the heatsink cannot exceed 78mm because it is designed to have the PSU right above the CPU. Some other SFF cases are designed differently and may allow slightly larger heatsinks, but not by much. This would eliminate most of the heatsinks mentioned in this thread. Your best bet would be looking at heatsinks that are similar to the Zalman 7700 and 8700 designs. Even the Blue Orb would work in most cases, but its circuference may be too large for some mobo's NB heatsinks.
