Any GPS software that can tell you how far you are from destination?

I'm just wondering if there are any GPS software that can tell you how far you're from the destination that you intend to go? Or from point A to point B? Thanks.

It also depends on what you are trying to run the software on-- Are you looking for software for a PDA or are you looking to go the PND route?

I know a bunch of the navigation units for cars will only give you distances as measured by roadways and not "bird's flight" distance (which is a straight line from A to B). The personal navigation units should give you straight line distances w/o a problem.
