I just upgraded my shuttle XPC75G2 with a PC Power and Colling 300w U1 ps and two 120mm side fans. I have 2.6c, 36GB, 1024 Kingston DDR400 (duel channel), FIC ATI 9700PRO in it. Right now I have it at 3.185G(245X13) I have the voltage set at1.5625V. BIOS reads it as 1.55V with CPU temp @40C and system temp@33C.MBM5 reads it as CPU voltage core 0 1.49v, core1 1.49v, CPU temp 44C, Case temp 33C. my question is what is a good max temp on the CPU. I don't thing voltage is a problem becouse the BIOS only goes to 1.5875V. I want to hit 250 FSB or higher if possable (so close) but getting unstable. What should I believe for CPU voltage? Bios or MBM5?

I keep mine under 50C no matter what voltage it's in......the cooler the case is, the better your temps will be IMO....

i believe that the max operating temp on a p4 is 70C. so you're fine. try to keep it under 60C (well under if possible) at load; i'd say if you hit 55C you're about as far as you should go.

voltage: ~1.7 should be the max you go to. i haven't heard of SNDS (Sudden Northwood Death Syndrome) for a while now, but you might as well play it safe. 1.6-1.65 should be all you need to get your 250fsb. you may have to bump the ram voltage as well, but just about anything under 3 is pretty much safe. if you're paranoid, stay at/under 2.8.

good luck.

I dont think he has to worry bout cooling his rig since it's modded sick.... :D Damn those huge fans....wish you posted them earlier......
