Hey Everyone -

I just finished building my new PC with an Asus K8V SE Deluxe board. Well, I installed WinXP on the new 80gig SATA drive I purchased for the new machine.

I would like to hook the old IDE hard drive into the board and a) rescue some of the old information b) use the old one for extra storage. From what I have read, there may be a problem since the old IDE drive has a WinXP install on it also.

Should the IDE HDD be set as master or slave? Do I need to make changes to BIOS as well? I also have an IDE to SATA adapter, but the two drives plugged into the SATA ports aren't getting me anywhere.

Any help will be greaty appreciated - I am having problems!

change the boot order in the bios.

And if he is using SATA he will have to select the boot drive in the boot screen.
