Another PC check

Dont forget a hard drive. It looks great IMO.The only thing I would do different is spend a little more on the mobo and get one thats sli ready. Im not sure the one youve got listed is for SLI. That way in the future you could add another card.

you need a heatsink.. hard drive..

xp-90 or zalman...
16mb maxtor..

and you might as well get a better case with no psu.. since you are buying a psu... no sense in having an extra crap psu sitting around collecting dust..

or possibly a sonata with a built in true power. instead of that SL...

look at one of these 2 for memory.. i have heard good things about both of them.. both supposedly run 2-2-2 with voltage.. or at least 2-3-3 stock.. vs 3-4-4 or whatever that valueram is going to be...

the system you have listed will work fine.. and people will always tweak it one way or another..

get an NEC dvd burner for $50 ish...

i would actually get a more expensive psu..

and you still need a cpu heatsink..

the most expensive thing is the motherboard.. everyone said get an sli ready one.. but will he use sli? you could downgrade back to a $130 ish one.. and make up your costs there..

Why does he need a heatsink unless he's going to be overclocking a lot? I thought the retail heatsink was pretty good

THANKS EVERYONE BTW

I don't think he would shell out the cash for the SLI later, I Mean he really doesnt play games too much, hes pretty hardcore, but like hardware and such, hes been using a 800mhz dell a friend borrowed to him.

Any more suggestions are welcome, i thought an aftermarket heatsink would be nice to get al little more out of the cpu might be worth it

This: http://www2.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16819103499 is OEM
it has no heatsink..

this: http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103501 is retail and does have a heatsink..

the price difference is $9... so either pay $9 and get the perty box, the amd sticker and the heatsink.. or spend a little more and get a nicer heatsink, but no box and no amd sticker..

i don't know what motherboards are good right now.. so someone else can reccomend a non sli 939 board but i would guess $130 max.. and hopefully there is a good budget board that will allow a modest overclock and will be stable.. for $80?? or sometihng like that..

You could probably save some $ on the mobo, I mean it's alot more "high-end" than the rest of your components

Don't forget about the warranty difference !!
