Haven't been on this forum in ages but i'm curious if anyone does any anodizing or if anyone has any suggestions on coloring a silver brushed aluminum faceplate black. I want it to look like it came that way......

Any links or email address to contact that you might know someone who does this would be appriciated!

Thanks!

Jason

As far as I know there is no way to make it look like a factory black one. If you andize (sp?) it, it will look andized and not factory black like a black Lian-Li case would. The reason I say this is because the andizing will fill in the textrue of the aluminum.

factory black would be anodized. that's the only way I know of to get that look, unless your really good at faux painting

oh, and anodizing it won't fill the texture of the aluminum, it will still have the same texture as it did before you got it anodized.

It's relatively expensive to set up your own anodizing system, and most contractors charge higher prices than you probably want to pay ($50+). Dupli-Color METALCAST would be my first recommendation but I see they don't offer black yet. This might sound very weird, but have you tried taking a Sharpie or similar marker to it? That would retain the original texture at least.

Where are you located?

I found a local shop here in L.A. who does that kind of stuff for pretty cheap. I'm at work now, so I don't have the link to their website.

A quick Google search found this: http://www.focuser.com/atm/anodize/anodize99.html He provides the service if you don't want to do it yourself: "I also provide anodizing services, with a low minimum, for those of you that don't want to setup your own anodizing line. Contact me for a quote."

I just bought an anodized case from antec(p160). But what's so cool about anodized case?
